Lutheran pastor Dietrich Bonhoeffer: the first martyr recognized by United Methodists

This spring Lutheran pastor Dietrich Bonhoeffer became the first person recognized as a martyr by the United Methodist Church. Bonhoeffer was approved at the church's General Conference, April 23-May 2 in Fort Worth, Texas. At that same conference, United Methodists voted in favor of full communion with the ELCA.

So how did this historic vote happen? What Methodist pastor in Arkansas was responsible? Read Linda Bloom's June 17 feature for the United Methodist News Service: "United Methodists give Bonhoeffer martyr status ."
