ELCA Conference of Bishops issues "Pastoral Word" in response to "Human Sexuality: Gift and Trust"
At the conclusion of its March 5-10 meeting in Itasca, Ill., the ELCA Conference of Bishops issued the statement "A Pastoral Word to the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America" related to the release of "Human Sexuality: Gift and Trust" by the Task Force for the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America Studies on Sexuality.
In the document, the Conference of Bishops states that its "conversations … have expressed the diversity of opinion that is common throughout this church."
In the document, the Conference of Bishops states that it received "with gratitude" the proposed social statement.
