A bedtime blog
On my (snowy) commute today, the radio newscasters kept reminding me it's "Cyber Monday" ... the holiday-season shopping day upon which online retailers offer special promotions.
I won't be doing any online shopping today, but maybe you have plans to take advantage of some "Cyber Monday" deals.
It strikes me as a bit funny that the online retail industry, which is "open" 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, needs to designate a specific day for shopping.
Despite the 24-hour nature of the Web, I got a refreshing automated email reply in the "help" box this morning. It read:
"I now have a 9 pm (EST) computer bedtime. Please call me if you need to get in touch right away. Thank you."
What a great idea! A "computer bedtime."
I don't know if it's something I could stick to, but the idea of having a designated "off" time for the computer is appealing. What do you think?
