Jaroslav Pelikan, prolific Lutheran author and former Sterling Professor of History at Yale University, has joined the Orthodox Church in America (www.oca.org).

On March 25, Pelikan was received into full communion with the Orthodox Church in America. In an open letter to members of Bethesda Lutheran Church, New Haven, Conn., the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America congregation to which he had belonged, Pelikan called the move a "logical culmination of a development in my mind and spirit that has been going on for decades."
