Help for Libyan refugees

As fighting continued between the forces of Muammar Gaddafi and rebels, the Lutheran World Federation sent staff from member churches to assess and prepare for a possible humanitarian effort.

The team is working out of the Sousha Refugee Camp, which serves about 15,000 people on the Tunisian side of the border.

Fearing camps could be overwhelmed by people fleeing Libya, LWF staff is expanding facilities to make room for up to 100,000 refugees.

To help, pray and give at the ELCA website; 800-638-3522; or by mail to ELCA International Disaster Response, 39330 Treasury Center, Chicago, IL 60694-9300.
