The U.S. Episcopal Church and two provinces of the Moravian Church in North America formally inaugurated a full-communion relationship with a Feb. 10 service at Central Moravian Church, Bethlehem, Pa.
The service blended elements of Moravian and Episcopal worship traditions. "Full communion is not merger. ... But can it not be something more than advancing the ecumenical ball a little bit further down the field?" Episcopal Diocese of Milwaukee Bishop Steven Miller asked during his sermon.
The three church groups are already in full communion with the ELCA.
