ELCA Presiding Bishop Mark S. Hanson is among 15 U.S. church leaders chosen by President Barack Obama to serve on an advisory council on faith-based programs.
Also on the list is Presiding Bishop Katharine Jefferts Schori of the Episcopal Church.

No prominent Muslim or Hindu leaders were included, but the White House said 10 names will be added.
