Church mural in his future

These paintings are among the 26 by artist Thomas V. Alexander, 28, that have been on display and for sale at the Hope Lutheran Church library, Reading, Pa., since December.

Proceeds from "The Balcony Event" will be used to fund his next project: a mural on the church's balcony.

Alexander's family has attended Hope for five generations, according to the Reading Eagle.

The balcony mural, which is to be completed by the church's 125 anniversary in 2012, will include 12 to 16 sections depicting prophets of hope in the Old and New Testaments.
