The Southern Poverty Law Center added the Family Research Council and four other religious organizations to its list of hate groups because of "falsehoods" in their anti-gay statements.
FRC was one of several groups cited for falsely accusing gays of being linked to pedophilia more than heterosexuals.
The list, which will be released in February, will also include the American Family Association, Tupelo, Miss.; Americans for Truth about Homosexuality, Naperville, Ill.; Dove World Outreach Center, Gainesville, Fla.; and the Illinois Family Institute, Carol Stream.
