Anglican property battles

A Canadian appeals court ruled in favor of an Anglican diocese in a $19.6 million church property dispute with four breakaway parishes that left the denomination over same-sex blessings and interpretation of the Bible.

The decision said clergy unhappy with the denomination's stance on sexuality cannot "remove themselves from their bishop's oversight and the diocesan structure and retain the right to use properties that are held for purposes of Anglican ministry in Canada."
