Jericho, one of the world's oldest inhabited cities, is holding a yearlong celebration of its 10,000th anniversary.
It's the second most visited city in the West Bank, after Bethlehem.
The Palestinian Ministry of Tourism said it hopes to develop tourism by restoring sites and developing themed routes.
According to news agencies, officials said many infrastructure projects are contending with Israeli restrictions and a lack of international funding.
