Members of American Lutheran, Windom, Minn., have no excuse for not knowing the church calendar. One stroll through the church's dining room reminds them. Member Carol Christianson created a quilt hanging of the seasons and festivals of the liturgical year.
The three-section, 36-foot hanging features symbols for each season, Advent to Christ the King Sunday.
Christianson used 37 fabrics to create the backgrounds and more than 125 fabrics for each season's symbols.
Design began in April 2010; the hanging was dedicated Nov. 14, just in time for the liturgical new year.
