The Magazine of The Evangelical Lutheran Church in America

A to-do list for the year ahead

No shortage of challenges

I don't know if these qualify as resolutions, but here are some things your editor hopes to accomplish in 2011:

• Keep looking for that perfect blend of news, theological, inspirational and missional articles so The Lutheran is — if not a must read — a welcomed guest in a majority of ELCA households.

• Orient articles to reflect the changes brought about by the actions of the 2009 Churchwide Assembly while respecting the profound reservations held by some.

• Plot a course of coverage for the 2011 Churchwide Assembly that draws on the award-winning work the magazine produced in covering the 2007 and 2009 assemblies, but with 50 percent less reporting staff.
