Point & click: It gets better

Adding his voice to more than 3,000 video essays on YouTube, ELCA Presiding Bishop Mark S. Hanson told youth who are gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender: "You are a beloved child of God."

Hanson's video responds to news reports of gay teenagers who have been bullied, some taking their own lives.

"Sometimes the words of my Christian brothers and sisters have hurt you," Hanson said in the video. "And I also know that our silence causes you pain."

It doesn't necessarily get better if you want to be "out" in the church! Here in Albuquerque, NM, not one line of welcome in church advertisments indicates that the GLBT faithful is openly welcomed! The Rocky Mountain's Bishop wouldn't even respond to an email! Not ONE Reconciled In Christ congregation here. I have worked so hard for the end of DADT, that is getting better! ELCA congregations want to drop out--go! You do not have the wecome that a Christ would offer. At least Bishop Hanson is positive!
