In poor countries where the tax base is small and millions live on subsistence incomes, multinational corporations that evade taxes cost those countries more than they receive in aid, says a report by Britain-based Christian Aid Scotland and the Church of Scotland.
The report, "Paying Our Dues: How Tax Dodging Punishes the Poor," claims the global economy loses as much as $160 billion a year to tax evasion.
