Amazing, active kids

They do God's work by serving others

Throughout the year, The Lutheran hears about ELCA youth who are excited to be active in church and doing God's work. Here are a few of their stories (maybe there's an idea here for your church).

First Lutheran Church, St. Joseph, Mo.: Six youth spent a "Homeless Overnight" at a local shelter. They played games, watched movies and shared stories with the homeless men. In the morning, they served pancakes for breakfast. The youth also spent time in reflection and worship.

The overnight emphasized not only serving but developing relationships with people the youth might not otherwise have had a chance to meet.
