The Roman Catholic Church in Ireland denied covering up the alleged involvement of a priest in a 1972 bombing in Northern Ireland that killed nine.
The denial followed an August report by the Northern Ireland Police Ombudsman about the bombing.
It said talks between police, government representatives and church officials resulted in bombing suspect and priest James Chesney's transfer to a parish in the Republic of Ireland.
