When the Baptist World Alliance met in Hawaii in August, it was missing some 1,000 global attendees.
The World Communion of Reformed Churches, which met in Grand Rapids, Mich., in June, was short 74, and about 200 global visitors were absent from the Seventh-day Adventists ' Atlanta gathering, Religion News Service reported.
All three church groups said U.S. officials denied visas to many of their global visitors, resulting in no representation for some countries.
