Roma defended

The Protestant Federation of France criticized government attempts to repatriate Roma migrants and demolish their unauthorized camps.

Calling the Roma "one of Europe's most impoverished populations," the federation expressed concern about a government crackdown in late July after a Roma member was killed by French security forces and violence erupted between the migrants and police.
