Baptisms injury claim

A Las Vegas man is suing the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for back injuries he reportedly incurred in 2007.

Daniel Dastrup claims he suffered a severe herniated disk after performing about 200 proxy baptisms.

Some of the people he immersed in the name of the dead weighed as much as 250 pounds, he said.

When he asked to be relieved he was told to continue, the civil suit states.

He is suing for, among other things, medical expenses, future loss of earning capacity and loss of household services.
