'Heart-wrenching' floods

ELCA sends $210,000 to partners providing relief in Pakistan

The worst floods in Pakistan's history — U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki-moon calls it "heart-wrenching" — affected more than 20 million people.

As of Sept. 1, the ELCA sent $150,000 to Church World Service and $60,000 to Lutheran World Relief to help provide food for some 35,000 people, emergency shelter for 17,500 and mobile health access for 17,500.
