Q: I'm going back to work full time this fall and need to find day care for my toddler. Although our church has a child-care program, I'm also considering a secular day care near my job. How do I decide which one to pick?
A: Do your homework carefully before making your choice. Visit both programs and observe how the teachers interact with the children.
Ask questions about health and safety inspections, child-to-teacher ratios, staff training and background checks, and the classroom curriculum.
Church programs often include a weekly chapel program and mealtime prayers, which help children grow in their awareness of God's love.
