Puppet storytellers

Iowa congregation tells "the old, old story" in new ways

St. John American Lutheran Church, Guttenberg, Iowa, is "telling the old, old story" in new ways via puppet ministry.

Puppet storytellersThe puppets, used in Sunday school, vacation Bible school and children's sermons, have brought a new level of excitement and an engaging approach to telling the gospel, said Shane M. Anderson, a pastor of St. John.

"Our puppet ministry offers a unique opportunity for people to do ministry together across generational lines and in several differing contexts in our congregational life," he said.
