Christians hailed in India

Christians are being hailed by Hansraj Bhardwaj, the governor of a southern India state where many attacks on Christians have occurred in recent years.

"We are privileged to have so many Christian institutions to bring dignity of life and knowledge to the poor," said Bhardwaj in an address at the United Theological College in Bangalore, India.

Making up only 2.3 percent of India's population, Christians provide nearly 20 percent of the social services in the country.
