Organizers of "Rethinking Stewardship," held July 19-21 at Luther Seminary, St. Paul, Minn., expected about 150 clergy and lay leaders, but registration closed at 400, said Ed Kruse, ELCA director for stewardship.
The conference at St. Andrew Lutheran Church, Eden Prairie, Minn., featured 13 leaders from various backgrounds presenting how the church could rethink cultural assumptions, theological and leadership possibilities, and stewardship direction. After each presentation, participants engaged in moderated small-group discussions.
