Germany's Roman Catholic and Protestant churches joined in grieving the deaths of 20 people at a music festival in Duisburg, Germany.
Pope Benedict XVI, a German, said, "I ask the comfort and nearness of the Holy Spirit for their relatives and friends who are grieving, and for those who were injured."
The deaths were triggered by a stampede at the Love Parade dance and music festival July 24.
More than 300 people were also injured in the tragedy, for which organizers, police and security officials have blamed each other.
