Animal connections

Creatures large and small can link us to God's wonders

Some kids are natural-born animal trainers. In no time flat, they can teach a pet parakeet to echo a phrase or train the family's Labrador to leap for a Frisbee.

But pets can teach children some tricks as well, experts say. No matter your family's choice of animal companion, caring for a creature can help children learn valuable life lessons in an array of areas—including spirituality and faith.
