The Anglican Church of Canada in June delayed deciding whether all its 30 dioceses will formally allow blessings of same-gender unions.
Currently, four dioceses permit such blessings.
The church acknowledged "the pain that our diversity in this matter causes," that it was "not prepared to make a legislative decision" and the need for "continued theological and scriptural study and dialogue on the wide range of matters relating to human sexuality."
