Dear Primo: A Letter to My Cousin is written and illustrated by Duncan Tonatiuh.
Charlie, who lives in America, and Carlitos, his cousin who lives in Mexico, decide to write to each other about their daily lives.
They have never met. At first, they seem to be very different: one lives in a city, the other on a farm.
One boy rides his bike to school while the other takes a subway. But slowly, the cousins discover activities they have in common, such as shopping with their mothers, playing after school and participating in special holidays.
This delightful story affirms cross-cultural experiences and the bounty of sharing.
Children will quickly see how much they, too, are connected by their interests with others their age around the world (Abrams Books for Young Readers).
