The candidacy committee of the Sierra Pacific Synod approved the reinstatement of two dismissed pastors to the clergy roster, and approved for reception six pastors from Extraordinary Lutheran Ministries.
Ross D. Merkel, St. Paul Lutheran Church, Oakland, and Steven P. Sabin, Christ Church Lutheran, San Francisco, were approved for reinstatement.
Bradley E. Schmeling and Darin Easler, partners, are also being reinstated.
Schmeling is pastor of St. John Lutheran Church in Atlanta. His reinstatement was approved by the candidacy committee of the Southeastern Synod. The Southeastern Minnesota Synod approved Easler's request for reinstatement. Easler served as pastor of United Redeemer Lutheran Church, Zumbrota, Minn., before being removed from the roster, and has been serving as a bereavement coordinator in the United Church of Christ.

The reasons for their dismissal don't need to be known because apparently it's no longer sinfulin the ELCA to invert the beauty of creation by committing homosexual acts.
