Polish bishops killed

Polish Lutheran bishop Mieczyslaw Cieslar died April 19 in a car accident, returning home from funeral services for the country's president, Lech Kaczynski, killed in a plane crash.

The April 10 plane crash in Russia also took the life of Acting Military Bishop Adam Pilch of the Evangelical (Lutheran) Church of the Augsburg Confession in Poland.
