Wash. church is site of shooting

An estranged couple were attending a session with the Lutheran Counseling Network at Calvary Lutheran Church, Federal Way, Wash., when the husband allegedly shot and killed his wife in mid-March.

Carol Hales, 38, and Charles Parsons, 42, had been separated for a year and a half.

They had been married 12 years and have three children.

Parsons, who was taken into custody at the scene, was charged with first-degree murder and placed on $5 million bail.
