Jazz musicians sometimes find that home is a concept not in tune with their lifestyle. Their lives revolve around practicing, finding the next gig or touring the country or world.

Home isn't even a theme that appears in much of their music — except for such classics as Home Sweet Home or Louis Armstrong's That's My Home. But home is one word that surfaces when people speak of St. Peter Lutheran Church, Manhattan, and its 36-year-old jazz ministry.
