Gathering in Dallas in February for the Jewish Council for Public Affairs, delegates from 61 national and community groups agreed to civility despite internal disagreements over Middle East policy, health-care reform and other polarizing issues.
Steve Gutow, JCPA executive director, said clashes within the American Jewish community promoted a resolution on civility. In other action, delegates agreed to confront proposed boycotts, divestment and sanctions related to Israel, and to ask Congress to overturn the military's "don't ask/don't tell" policy.
