Richard Hillert, 86, a noted composer of church music, died Feb. 18 at his home in Melrose Park, Ill. He wrote liturgical pieces and hymns and served as music editor for the Lutheran Book of Worship (1978).
Among his most frequently performed liturgical works for congregations is "Setting One of Holy Communion" that appears in the LBW, known by many simply as "This is the Feast." See "Richard Hillert, composer, dies at age 86" for a full obituary.
