Stop trafficking

At the Lutheran World Federation North America Pre-Assembly Consultation in January in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada, ELCA member Mikka McCracken urged the delegates to advocate for women's issues in such areas as leadership, food justice and human trafficking.

The latter two are connected, she said: "In some places women sell themselves just to put food on the table for their families. ... The church must combat the sale of women's and children's bodies, particularly at this time of global financial crisis."
