Lutheran Church of Hope, West Des Moines, Iowa, unveiled in January a 30-foot wind turbine next to its building, the gift of an anonymous donor.
Church officials estimate the windspire, which cost about $12,000, should cut energy bills by 25 percent.
The structures are even green — they're built with recycled materials, including aircraft-grade aluminum.
