After six Christians and a Muslim security guard were killed at a church in Nag Hamadi, Egypt, in January, Munib Younan, bishop of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Jordan and the Holy Land, and World Alliance of Reformed Churches General Secretary Setri Nyomi denounced the growing violence against Christians.
Nyomi urged Egypt's government "to take every step possible to provide security for all the people of Egypt." Younan called the attack "horrifying."
