S.C. church spares the air

The South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control honored St. John Lutheran Church, Walhalla, S.C., with a "Spare the Air" award.

The church was recognized for its environmental stewardship and for encouraging members to make a difference at home, work, school and in the community.

For example, St. John puts a monthly "green tip," such as share a ride to work or school, in its monthly newsletter.
