International aid agencies, including the United Kingdom-based Christian Aid and World Vision, issued a report urging international action to support the 5-year-old peace agreement in Sudan.
In December, Sudanese Roman Catholic bishops reported that opponents of peace had increased their attacks on civilians and government installations.
Prior to the peace, two decades of civil war left more than 2 million people dead and more than 4 million homeless.
