Gathering in December in Bangkok, Thailand, Asian Lutheran young adults urged churches to consider how the rich heritage of Lutheranism can be more relevant for their age group.
Across Asia, young adults face unemployment and are "crying of physical hunger and of spiritual hunger," said Sekino Kazuhiro, a Japan Evangelical Lutheran Church pastor.
Added Sofia M. Samuel, many youth in the India Evangelical Lutheran Church "are drifting away from their parent churches to charismatic churches" that are open to new worship styles.
