Christ (Lakewood, Wash.) and Trinity (Parkland, Wash.) Lutheran churches, held services in December to remember the four Lakewood police officers killed Nov. 29 in an ambush at a Parkland coffee shop. None of the officers were members of either congregation. Christ Lutheran held "A Service of Lament, A Service of Hope" while Trinity's worship was based on "Christian Hope in the face of Violence." Pacific Lutheran University, Tacoma, Wash., also held a candlelight vigil.
