From church to hospital

Labor didn't stop a woman from getting her free turkey at Central Lutheran Church, Anchorage. The Food Bank of Alaska gives free turkeys and meal fixings at churches the Monday before Thanksgiving. A neighbor drove her to the church, but eventually approached Alan Budahl, executive director of Lutheran Social Services, about the woman experiencing contractions but not wanting to leave since she needed the food. She was moved to the front of the giveaway, given a basket, and left for the hospital. In the commotion, no one got her name or asked what hospital she was going to, reported the Chronicle Weekender.
