Lutherans & climate

ELCA and other faith leaders held a prayer event in November on the lawn of the U.S. Capitol, urging Congress to support climate change legislation. They also presented U.S. senators with thousands of "Countdown to Copenhagen" campaign postcards. The ecumenical campaign called for the U.S. to take an active role at the December 2009 international talks in Copenhagen about climate change.

First it was called Global Cooling in the 1970's. When that didn't take off it changed to Global Waming in the 1990's. Since the last few Winters were some of the coldest on record in places, the Global Warming Kool Aid Drinkers had to come up with another term. There as as many notable climatologist who produce data to refute anything the pro group comes up with. The end result of this whole debacle will be hundreds of millions of dollars waisted and hundreds of thousands of jobs lost. For supposedly every green job created many many more regular jobs are terminated. The ELCA Leadership again shows the money comes from the left side of the isle and like our Congress the rank and file Lutherans have no voice or input. Lets hope the Bishop shows up on the lawn again for things such as run away illegitimate births, illegal immigants, and corruption in our Govenment. Any bets he won't........

What a political, fraudulent, manipulative crock "global warming" is!

When will the ELCA STOP being pulled into worldly lies and political manipulations?

God's Word is the only TRUE thing.  In Genesis 8:22, after the flood, God made this promise to Noah; "While the earth remains, Seedtime and harvest, And cold and heat, And summer and winter, And day and night Shall not cease."

Human activities DO affect the climate, both locally, regionally, and worldwide (aka globlal warning).  These finding are not "lies".  Far more scientists subscribe to these effects than those who don't.  Many of the scientist critics primarily question the amount of the effects on climate (which everyone involved would agree is not exclisively of human origin).  Non-scientist critics persist in political polarization, Denialism (see the book of the same title), and resort to terms like "lies", "Kool Aid drinkers'" (where dit that one come from??), etc.  Even some evangelicals are seeing the light and have a book out supporting the findings of global warming.

Robert,

The effects of human activities on global climate are miniscule to the point that the current brouhaha leading to economically dangerous "Cap and Trade" policies, etc., is what needs to be feared.  The knee-jerk overreactions of political factions to GW will bankrupt industries, eliminate jobs and starve people worldwide.

The point of my post is to TRUST GOD.  NOT AL GORE.
