As residents of St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, spent the holiday season recovering from Hurricane Marilyn, churchwide employees of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America sponsored service projects to make their Christmas more merry.
Twenty-two boxes with presents and ornaments for children and seniors were sent to Frederick Lutheran Church. Several ELCA employees, including Robert Pope from the Office of the Treasurer and building manager Joseph Thibault, went to the island to help restore homes of members of Frederick and Reformation Lutheran Church.
