Jeffrey S. Barrow, an assistant to the bishop and a pastor of Holy Communion Lutheran Church, Racine, Wis., was elected in December as bishop of the Greater Milwaukee Synod, effective Feb. 1. He received 209 votes on the fifth ballot while Susan E. Tjornehoj, director for evangelical mission for the Minneapolis Area Synod, received 185. Barrow, 58, replaces David W. Olson, interim bishop. Olson stepped in after Paul W. Stumme-Diers resigned Sept. 30 to serve as pastor of Bethany Lutheran Church, Bainbridge Island, Wash.
