A woman accused of blackmailing a pastor was sentenced to 90 days in jail and 10 years probation in October, the result of telling his wife, the senior pastor and church officials about their affair after he said he couldn't come up with $18,000 in hush money. Bunny Annette Byington, 46, of Moorhead, Minn., plead guilty in September to coercion for exhorting money from Mark Ostgarden, 52, who resigned from Our Savior Lutheran Church, Valley City, N.D., June 5. His status at the ELCA appears as on leave from call.
