Wittenberg Center staff laid off

Stephen E. and Jean Godsall-Myers, directors of the ELCA Wittenberg Center, ended their service in Germany Nov. 30, the result of "harsh budget realities," said Robert O. Smith of ELCA Global Mission. The center's future is uncertain, Smith said. Located in the city where Martin Luther nailed the 95 Theses to the door of the Castle Church in 1517, the center provides educational programs for college students and continuing education and sabbatical opportunities for professional church leaders.
