10 painting pastors

How many pastors does it take to paint the inside walls of a house? Ten, working for almost three hours, in the case of ELCA pastors from the Washington County Conference of the Delaware-Maryland Synod. Their effort helped finish a Habitat for Humanity house paid for by the conference, Habitat and Thrivent Financial Services for Lutherans. The project involves members of 15 ELCA congregations. Working on it "builds community," said Gerry Johnson, conference dean. "That's what we should be about."
