Residents at five nursing homes of Lutheran Services for the Aging soon will see "culture change" improvements like these at their facilities, thanks to grants totaling more than $120,000 from the North Carolina Coalition for Long-Term Care Enhancement. Other additions include a garden patio, children's playground and walking trail. The projects were among 21 receiving grants from 56 proposals. The coalition supports efforts to move nursing homes away from institutional or hospital-like models of care.

As a CENA in a typical Nursing Home affiliated with the ELCA, it is with joy I read articles like this! I am saddend that we allow adminstrators to put money before people!
